411 The study of house dust mites in Taiwan

TL;DR: In this paper, a study was conducted to determine the distribution of house dust mites in houses of mite-sensitive asthmatic children and normals, the species of mites found in various house dust samples, the seasonal prevalence, and the relation between the content of mitic allergen and the mite density in dusts.

TL;DR: The skin synthesis of cholecalciferol and probably genetically-determined differences in the conversion of inactive vitamin D3 to its active metabolites of 25-HCC and 1, 25DHCC are some of the problems which warrant further studies in osteomalacia in immigrants.

Evidence of Allergic Reactions and Cardiopulmonary Impairments among Traders Operating from Foodstuff Warehouses.

TL;DR: Significant decrease in FVC may negatively impact lung flow rates and explains the marginal decrease in FEF25–75, which implies a relative limitation in airflow of peripheral/distal airways and elastic recoil of the lungs, consistent with obstructive pulmonary disease.

Worldwide trends in the prevalence of asthma symptoms: phase III of the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC)

TL;DR: Findings indicate that international differences in asthma symptom prevalence have reduced, particularly in the 13–14 year age group, with decreases in prevalence in English speaking countries and Western Europe and increases inPrevalence in regions where prevalence was previously low.
Journal ArticleDOI

Allergen‐induced increase in non‐allergic bronchial reactivity

TL;DR: It is concluded that allergens make asthma worse, partly through non‐allergic mechanisms, and that avoidance of allergens is important in reducing non‐ allergic bronchial hyper‐reactivity.
