The Influence of Geographical Factors in Traditional Earthen Architecture: The Case of the Iberian Peninsula

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors carried out a thorough data collection throughout the whole of the Iberian Peninsula in order to identify the main characteristics of this architecture in each location and to produce maps featuring the locations for each technique.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance assessment of building structures due to Pidie Jaya earthquake using pushover analysis

TL;DR: The performance assessment of two building structures, which were the Multipurpose Hall Building that has been deformed permanently and Prosecutor’s Office Buildings that have been experienced some flexural and shear cracks was conducted, showed that the performance level of theMultipurposes Hall Building structure is Life Safety, while the Prosecutor's Office Building structure was Damage Control.
Journal ArticleDOI

Machine learning-based predictive models for equivalent damping ratio of RC shear walls

TL;DR: In this article , a machine learning algorithm was used to estimate the equivalent damping ratio in reinforced concrete shear walls at displacements corresponding to a 1.0% lateral drift ratio.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stability analysis of composite I-shaped masonry reinforced retaining wall

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of geogrid on the stability of the retaining wall of the single-layer masonry reinforced retaining wall is studied through field test and finite element software ABAQUS numerical simulation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Energy Dissipation in Frame Structures using Sliding Lever Mechanism Technique

TL;DR: In this article, a sliding lever damping energy dissipation technique is proposed to reduce the overall displacement and acceleration response in a 3-dimensional scale-based steel frame model, and the results showed a reduction of 55% to 6% in stories deflections and 36% to 12% in acceleration.
