Effect of non-surgical periodontal therapy on the fibrinogen levels in chronic periodontitis patients.

TLDR
The non-surgicalperiodontal therapy proved to be effective in improving the clinical periodontal condition of the periodontitis patients, while the plasma fibrinogen levels were not found to be influenced by the periodontoal therapy.

Impact of Polyethylene Glycol Functionalization of Graphene Oxide on Anticoagulation and Haemolytic Properties of Human Blood.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the effects of polyethylene glycol (PEG) on the structure and function of human blood components, especially on the morphology and the haemolytic potential of red blood cells (RBCs).

Evaluation of Inflammatory Acute Phase Protein Level and Different Leukocyte Counts in Chronic Periodontitis Normolipidemic Patients after Nonsurgical Periodontal Therapy.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of nonsurgical periodontal therapy (SNT) was evaluated on clinical parameters, including C-reactive protein (CRP) level, total leukocyte count (TLC), and differential leukocytes count (DLC) in normolipidemic patients with generalized chronic periodontitis.

Size and Shape of Protein Molecules at the Nanometer Level Determined by Sedimentation, Gel Filtration, and Electron Microscopy

TL;DR: This review collects a number of simple calculations that are useful for thinking about protein structure at the nanometer level, including the Perrin equation, based on the measured sedimentation coefficient and the calculated maximum S to estimate if a protein is globular or elongated.

Elevation of systemic markers related to cardiovascular diseases in the peripheral blood of periodontitis patients.

TL;DR: periodontitis results in higher systemic levels of CRP, IL-6, and neutrophils, which may increase inflammatory activity in atherosclerotic lesions, potentially increasing the risk for cardiac or cerebrovascular events.
