Journal ArticleDOI

Update on nonsurgical lung volume reduction procedures.

TL;DR: Patients presenting with severe air trapping and thoracic hyperinflation have the greatest potential to derive benefit from ELVR procedures and should ideally include cardiological evaluation, high resolution CT scan, ventilation and perfusion scintigraphy, full pulmonary function tests, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Emphysème pulmonaire avancé

TL;DR: The bronchopneumopathie chronique obstructive (BPCO) as mentioned in this paper is a maladie irréversible that is irreversible in manière différente d'un individu to another.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sequential unilateral lung volume reduction for emphysema - Stretching the benefit.

TL;DR: A case initially referred for lung transplantation is presented, where sequential left upper lobe BLVR and 7 years later right upper lobe SLVR are presented, providing enduring physiological and functional improvement.

Nuevos procedimientos broncoscópicos en Argentina: Reducción volumétrica pulmonar endoscópica con válvulas endobronquiales

TL;DR: There is a group of patients with heterogeneous emphysema, intact interlobar fissure, severe air trapping and low exercise tolerance that show a statistically and clinically significant benefits in pulmonary function tests, exercise capacity and quality of life.
