Electron transfer reactions in metal ammine complexes—III: Reduction of amino benzoic acid and their Schiff base substituted petaammine Cr(III) complexes by Cr(II)

TL;DR: In this paper, the steric shielding effect of the NH 3 + group to adjacent attack by Cr(II) perchlorates was investigated and the H + ion dependence and the higher rate of reduction of the o -amino benzoato complex at low H+ ion concentrations can be accounted for on the basis of chelation in the transition state.
