Journal ArticleDOI

The current practice of lift traffic design using calculation and simulation

TL;DR: The fact that calculation and simulation are not mutually exclusive methodologies is emphasised, and shows how they complement each other, where the former provides a starting design and the latter allows the designer to fine tune the lift traffic design.
Journal ArticleDOI

An integrated framework for elevator traffic design under general traffic conditions using origin destination matrices, virtual interval, and the Monte Carlo simulation method:

TL;DR: An integrated methodology for the design of elevator traffic systems for the general case of mixed traffic conditions is presented and the concept of a virtual interval is introduced in order to allow the selection of the number of elevators to be carried out.
Journal ArticleDOI

Explicit data-driven prediction model of annual energy consumed by elevators in residential buildings

TL;DR: An explicit data-driven multiple linear regression model for predicting the annual energy consumption of elevators installed in residential buildings and it is concluded that saving of up to 50% of annualEnergy consumption could be achieved if non-ACVVVF drives are replaced with ACVV VF drives.

Multi-objective Optimization of Multi-Agent Elevator Group Control System Based on Real-time Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

Yanwu Gu
- 03 Jul 2012 -
TL;DR: Simulation results show that EGCS based on Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) using RPSO gives good results for up-peak EGCS scheduling problem and the elevator real-time scheduling and reallocation functions are realized based on R PSO in case new information is available or the elevator becomes busy because it is unavailable or full.
Journal ArticleDOI

Double deck elevator group control systems using evolutionary algorithms: Interfloor and lunchpeak traffic analysis

TL;DR: This paper proposes a genetic algorithm that demonstrated a good performance when compared to a tabu search algorithm that was used as benchmark for comparison, taking into account different fitness evaluation functions (overall dispatching time and nearest call) and produced efficient results outperforming the considered benchmark.

Elevator Traffic Handbook: Theory and Practice

TL;DR: This chapter discusses the principles of classical lift traffic design and the role of uppeak traffic calculations in this design process.

Elevator selection with destination control system

Janne Sorsa
TL;DR: Elevator selection with destination control system is presented at Elevcon Peking 2005, where it was the first time the system was presented in public.
