Exhaust-gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine
TLDR
In this paper, an adjustable throttle device is provided upstream from the compressor wheel, for regulating the air mass stream to be supplied by an exhaust gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine.Abstract:
An exhaust gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine has an exhaust gas turbine in the exhaust gas train and a compressor in the intake tract, whereby an adjustable throttle device is provided upstream from the compressor wheel, for regulating the air mass stream to be supplied. The throttle device comprises a first guide grid and a second guide grid in the inflow region to the compressor wheel. Each guide grid possesses an adjustable grid geometry.read more

Variable geometry turbine
TL;DR: In this paper, a turbocharger variable geometry turbine of the type which includes nozzle vanes displaceable across the turbine inlet flow path into slots is described, and the vanes have cut-outs which reduce the vane cord and permit peak turbine efficiency over a range of geometries.

Internal combustion engine with an exhaust turbocharger and an exhaust-gas recirculation device
Siegfried Sumser,Helmut Finger +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an internal combustion engine including an exhaust turbocharger and an exhaust-gas recirculation device, with an exhaust turbine and a compressor, has a plurality of inlet flow passages to which exhaust gas can be supplied via separate exhaust lines connected to some of the cylinders.

Turbocharger and EGR System
TL;DR: In this article, a turbocharger, restrictor valve, and exhaust gas recirculation valve are used to restrict the flow of exhaust gas into the turbine of an internal combustion engine.

Exhaust-gas turbocharger
TL;DR: An exhaust gas turbocharger comprising a turbine with a guide apparatus comprising a ring of guide vanes arranged concentrically around a rotor axis and pivotable between two end limits is described in this paper.

Exhaust gas re-circulation arrangement
TL;DR: In this article, an exhaust gas re-circulation arrangement for a supercharged internal combustion engine with a turbocharger and a compressor is presented. But the authors focus on the control arrangement for controlling the exhaust gas flow through the turbine inlet flow passages so as to control the pressure in the recirculation line.
