This work compares the experimental performance of 12 variations of the binary joint transform correlator (BJTC) when used for fingerprint identification with a single spatial light modulator BJTC using two input SLMs.Abstract:
We compare the experimental performance of 12 variations
of the binary joint transform correlator (BJTC) when used for fingerprint
identification. Three hardware architectures were used: a single spatial
light modulator (SLM) BJTC, a BJTC using two input SLMs, and a chirpencoded
BJTC using two input SLMs. These correlators were implemented
on the same hardware setup with minor modifications. With each
hardware configuration, four binarization techniques were implemented:
global threshold, Fourier plane windowing, frame subtraction, and frame
subtraction followed by windowing. A set of 10 experiments was used to
characterize the output peak intensity, peak-to-noise ratio, and discrimination
ratio. The same set of experiments was run on each of the 12
correlator variants.read more

Optical security system using fourier plane encoding
TL;DR: In this article, a method of encrypting a set of data is disclosed, which may include using a second encryption key to encode the transformation of the set of encoded data encoded with the first encryption key.
Effect of Resolution and Image Quality on Combined Optical and Neural Network Fingerprint Matching | NIST
TL;DR: Fourier transform matching and neural networks can be used to match fingerprints which have too low image quality to be matched using minutia-based methods, and this is the largest test to date of FT matching for fingerprints.

Effect of Resolution and Image Quality on Combined Optical and Neural Network Fingerprint Matching
TL;DR: In this paper, Fourier transform correlations are used to generate features that are localized to parts of each fingerprint and combined using a neural network classification network and separate class-by-class matching networks.

Fully digital encryption technique
TL;DR: This work proposes an alternative fully digital encryption technique based on using the Fourier transform of the original object to be processed and a speckled reference wave as encryption mask, which is also holographically stored.

High-speed fingerprint verification using an optical correlator
TL;DR: A real-time, VanderLugt-type optical correlator using a single SLM using a field programmable gate array to capture and process images obtained from a CCD camera at a rate of 60 video fields/s is developed.
