Exploring how information exchanges can be enhanced through cloud BIM

TLDR
The proposed model is not to introduce a new schema in contrast to IFC but to harness the capability of IFC XML and or possibly engage with using Simplified Markup Language (SML) subsets of eXtensible Mark up Language (XML) for exchanging partial data to design an integrated platform that would enhance the BIM usability experience for various disciplines in making key design decisions at a relatively early design stage.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) for existing buildings — Literature review and future needs

TL;DR: Results show scarce BIM implementation in existing buildings yet, due to challenges of (1) high modeling/conversion effort from captured building data into semantic BIM objects, (2) updating of information in BIM and (3) handling of uncertain data, objects and relations in B IM occurring inexisting buildings.

Potentials of Blockchain Technology for Construction Management

TL;DR: It is concluded that blockchain provides solutions to many current problems in construction information management, but it is more likely that it will be built into generic IT infrastructure on top of which construction applications are built, rather than used directly by authors of construction related software.

BIM Handbook: A Guide to Building Information Modeling for Owners, Managers, Designers, Engineers and Contractors

TL;DR: The Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a new approach to design, construction, and facility management in which a digital representation of the building process is used to facilitate the exchange and interoperability of information in digital format as mentioned in this paper.

What is Web 2.0? Ideas, technologies and implications for education

Paul Anderson
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors argue that the web is entering a "second phase" -a new, "improved" Web version 2.0. But how justified is this perception?

What is an expert

TL;DR: It is argued that there are two kinds of experts: those whose expertise is a function of what they know (epistemic expertise), or what they do (performative expertise).
