Good exposure in sinus surgery is possible by the use of a lateral rhinotomy incision, indicated in some cases of advanced chronic sinusitis, benign tumours and cysts, and occasionally for nasal malignancies.Abstract:
Good exposure in sinus surgery is possible by the use of a lateral rhinotomy incision. The nose is mobilized and swung to one side. The operation will permit an en bloc removal of the lateral nasal wall and ethmoidal complex and can be extended to expose the frontal sinus. A case is described to illustrate the use of the procedure. The operation is indicated in some cases of advanced chronic sinusitis, benign tumours and cysts, and occasionally for nasal malignancies.read more
