TLDR
Algorithms of open-loop and close-loop optimization of the canonical optimal control problem for a linear time-varying dynamic system in the class of discrete controls are described.
Abstract
The canonical optimal control problem for a linear time-varying dynamic system in the class of discrete controls is under consideration. Using principles of the adaptive method of linear programming, algorithms of open-loop and close-loop optimization are described. Results are illustrated by a fourth order problem.

Optimal guaranteed control of delay systems

Optimal on-line control of linear time-delay systems

TL;DR: A novel concept of a state of the optimal control problem allows to define a feedback as a function of a finite-dimensional position of the problem rather than a functional of the infinite-dimensional positions of the time-delay system.

Mathematical Theory of Optimal Processes

TL;DR: The fourth and final volume in this comprehensive set presents the maximum principle as a wide ranging solution to nonclassical, variational problems as discussed by the authors, which can be applied in a variety of situations, including linear equations with variable coefficients.

Abort landing in the presence of windshear as a minimax optimal control problem, part 2: multiple shooting and homotopy

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the necessary conditions for the optimal control problem of the abort landing of a passenger aircraft in the presence of windshear result in a multipoint boundary-value problem.

Abort landing in the presence of windshear as a minimax optimal control problem, part 1: necessary conditions

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered the landing of a passenger aircraft in the presence of windshear, and solved the problem by means of the multiple shooting method in connection with an appropriate homotopy strategy.

Real‐time computation of feedback controls for constrained optimal control problems. part 1: Neighbouring extremals

TL;DR: In this paper, a numerical method is developed for the real-time computation of neighbouring optimal feedback control for constrained optimal control problems, and a survey of the theory of neighbouring extremals is presented.
