Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and properties of pyrimidinylalkylphosphonic acids

TL;DR: In this paper, a study was made of the reaction of 6-methyluracil, uracil and 2-amino-4-hydroxy-6-methylpyrimidine with chloromethylphosphonic acid.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vibronic spin—orbit coupling in the phosphorescence of 4-hydroxypyridine

TL;DR: In this paper, an out of plane vibronic perturbation is evident in the polarization curve and is believed to arise from second order effects involving vibronic spin-orbit coupling.
Journal ArticleDOI

Localization of radiation energy in DNA

TL;DR: The frontier orbital theory of chemical reactivity has been introduced to compare the probabilities of various DNA constituents of stabilizing excess electrons or holes as discussed by the authors, based on the analysis of the electron affinities and ionization potentials, and with the experimental data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Infrared spectra of 3-hydroxy-(1H)-pyridinium cation and 3-hydroxy-(1H)-pyridinyl radical isolated in solid para-hydrogen

TL;DR: Observed vibrational wavenumbers and relative intensities of these species agree satisfactorily with the scaled harmonic vibrations and IR intensities predicted with the B3LYP/aug-cc-pVTZ method and are predicted to be the most stable species among all possible isomers by quantum-chemical calculations.
