The Use of Scripture in Practical Theology

TL;DR: In this paper, a survey of the literature written by established academics in the field, a sixfold typology was identified, which includes the use of an a priori conceptual grid, use of proof texts, a strategic selection of a key passage or passages, some measured of sustained engagement of a number of biblical passages, a critical reading from historical, theological or ideological perspectives, and the strategy of excluding biblical texts altogether.
