This invention concerns a process for operating a high-temperature fuel cell plant (2) which consists of at least one high-temperature fuel cell block (4) with an anode element (6) and a cathode element (8), whereby at least a portion of the anode exhaust gas of the high-temperature fuel cell block (4) is fed as fuel to a gas engine (26) connected to a generator (50) to increase the power generated.
