TLDR
In this paper, the fluidization characteristics of a bed consisting of an admixture of iron and copper shot stabilized by an external uniform magnetic field collinear with the gas velocity vector are investigated over an extended range of magnetic field intensity (up to 17 430 A/m) and air velocity ( up to a maximum of 8.3 m/s) at ambient conditions of temperature and pressure.

Use of discrete element method simulation in studying fluidization characteristics: influence of interparticle force

TL;DR: In this paper, a discrete element simulation is used to investigate the influence of cohesive interparticle force on the characteristic behavior of a gas fluidized bed, and the effect of the cohesive interbody force on fluidization characteristics is analyzed in terms of the change in the ratio of the minimum bubbling to minimum fluidization velocities.

Enhanced fluidization of nanoparticles in an oscillating magnetic field

TL;DR: In this paper, an oscillating AC magnetic field is used to excite large permanent magnetic particles mixed in with the nanoparticle agglomerates, and the fluidization behavior of the nanoagglomerates, including fluidization regime, minimum fluidization velocity, the bed pressure drop and the bed expansion are investigated.

Hydrodynamics of a gas–solid fluidized bed with thermally induced interparticle forces

TL;DR: In this article, a polymer coating approach was applied to increase and adjust the level of cohesive interparticle forces (IPFs) in a gas-solid fluidized bed, where the system temperature was gradually varied near and slightly above the glass transition temperature of the polymer, between 20 and 40°C.

Effects of temperature, pressure, and interparticle forces on the hydrodynamics of a gas-solid fluidized bed

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive review of the experimental and simulation studies of gas-solid fluidization at elevated temperatures and pressures and in the presence of interparticle forces is warranted.

Some hydrodynamic investigations of a magnetically stabilized air-fluidized bed of ferromagnetic particles

TL;DR: In this paper, experimental data of bed pressure drop, bed voidage and mass minimum bubbling velocity reveal that bed behavior and its structure can be understood in terms of three broad categories of the applied uniform magnetic field intensity.
