Identification of systems containing linear dynamic and static nonlinear elements

TLDR
It is shown that systems composed of cascade, feedforward, feedback and multiplicative connections of linear dynamic and zero memory nonlinear elements can be identified in terms of the individual component subsystems from measurements of the system input and output only.

Nonlinear System Identification: NARMAX Methods in the Time, Frequency, and Spatio-Temporal Domains

TL;DR: The NARMAX (nonlinear autoregressive moving average with exogenous inputs) model as mentioned in this paper allows models to be built term by term where the error reduction ratio reveals the percentage contribution of each model term Statistical and qualitative model validation methods that can be applied to any model class Generalised frequency response functions which provide significant insight into nonlinear behaviours.

Structure identification of nonlinear dynamic systems—a survey on input/output approaches

TL;DR: In this paper structure identification of block-oriented (especially cascade) models, of semi-linear dynamic models with signal-dependent parameters and of non linear dynamic models being linear in the parameters will be considered.

The identification of nonlinear biological systems: Wiener and Hammerstein cascade models

TL;DR: Various identification schemes that have been proposed for the Hammerstein and Wiener systems are critically reviewed with reference to the special problems that arise in the identification of nonlinear biological systems.

Correlation based model validity tests for non-linear models

TL;DR: In this article, correlation based model validity tests are derived that detect omitted linear and non-linear dynamic terms in estimated models, and they are used to detect outliers in models.

An iterative method for the identification of nonlinear systems using a Hammerstein model

TL;DR: In this article, an iterative method is proposed for the identification of nonlinear systems from samples of inputs and outputs in the presence of noise, which consists of a no-memory gain (of an assumed polynomial form) followed by a linear discrete system.

Measurement of the Wiener Kernels of a Non-linear System by Cross-correlation†

TL;DR: In this article, a practical and relatively simple method of measuring the Wiener kernels of a non-linear system is presented, which is based upon cross-correlation techniques and avoids orthogonal expansions such as those of the original Wiener method of measurement.

Identification of Nonlinear Systems- A Survey

TL;DR: A survey of nonlinear system identification algorithms and related topics is presented by extracting significant results from the literature and presenting these in an organised and systematic way as discussed by the authors, where the limitations, relationships and applicability of the methods are discussed throughout.
