In this article, an imaging process and system by transillumination of a medium (H) illuminated by transparency by a beam (F1), an acoustic transducer (TA1) emits an acoustic wave in the medium, which interferes with the beam.
Abstract
In an imaging process and system by transillumination of a medium (H) illuminated by transparency by a beam (F1), an acoustic transducer (TA1) emits an acoustic wave in the medium (H) which interferes with the beam (F1). The frequency of the light passing through the medium (H) is then shifted from the value of the frequency of the acoustic wave. A collimating device (A) whose object focus is located at the intersection of the acoustic wave and the light beam (F1) collects the light diffused by the medium (H). Application: medical imaging.

Optical examination of biological tissue using non-contact irradiation and detection

TL;DR: An optical system for examination of biological tissue includes a light source, a light detector, optics and electronics as discussed by the authors, which is located away (i.e., in a non-contact position) from the examined biological tissue and is constructed to detect light that has migrated in the examined tissue.

Measuring arrangement for tissue-optical examination of a subject with visible, NIR or IR light

TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus and method for optically analyzing tissue in a subject directs coherent light and ultrasound at the subject along parallel propagation paths, this shift being related to certain tissue characteristics.

Detection of ultrasound-modulated photons in diffuse media using the photorefractive effect.

TL;DR: A technique for detection of ultrasound-induced optical phase modulation using an adaptive, photorefractive-crystal-based interferometry system and experimental results are presented demonstrating detection of ultrasound-modulated signals in highly scattering media by use of pulsed ultrasound insonation.

Examination of subjects using photon migration with high directionality techniques

TL;DR: In this article, a subject is positioned between input and detection ports of the spectroscopic system applied to the subject, and a radiation pattern controller controls the time-varying relationship between the introduced patterns to achieve a directional pattern of emitted resulting radiation that possesses substantial gradient of photon density.

Optical techniques for examination of biological tissue

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a system that examines tissue positioned between input ports (101, 103) and a detection port (107) where at least one source of a visible or infrared wavelength (102, 104) is provided that introduces electromagnetic radiation into the subject.

Acousto-optical imagery system based on coherent holographic detection in real time

TL;DR: In this article, an optical image diffrac-ted by the action of an ultrasonic wave is detected by coherent detection in a electro-optical and photoconductive holographic recording material under an applied field by holographic recordings of the interferences between the diffracted order to be imaged formed by the optical wave of pulsation.

Optical imaging of sound fields by heterodyning

TL;DR: In this paper, Bragg imaging at relatively low acoustic imaging frequencies is accomplished by Bragg diffracting light-beam lightbeam in such a way that the diffracted light from the Bragg light-sound interaction region includes an image sideband of one order or frequency and a relatively uniform field of reference light of another order/frequency which is superimposed on the image side band at the image plane of the sideband image.

Acoustical holography by optically sampling a sound field in bulk

TL;DR: In this article, a coherent monochromatic light beam is directed into a lightsound interaction cell in which a spatially modulated sound field of constant frequency-carrying image information is propagated nominally transversely to the beam by means of a transducer attached to the sound cell and driven by an appropriate constant frequency signal.
