Evaluation of Time Domain Propagation Measurements of UWB Systems Using Spread Spectrum Channel Sounding

TL;DR: In this article, the spread spectrum sounding experiments for indoor wireless channel over a frequency band spanning 2-12 GHz, which exceeds the full FCC UWB band, were carried out for directional spiral antennas in line-of-sight (LOS) and omnidirectional biconical antennas in non-line of sight (NLOS) environments, in the latter case with up to 15 m antenna separation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spiral and dipole antennas for indoor MIMO-systems

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison of spiral and dipole antennas in MIMO systems is presented, based on measurements and second on a stochastic channel model for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Correlation-based double-directional stochastic channel model for multiple-antenna ultra-wideband systems

TL;DR: In this article, a correlation-based double-directional stochastic channel model for indoor multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) ultra-wideband (UWB) propagation channels is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Outage Performance of Relaying with Directional Antennas in the Presence of Co-Channel Interferences at Relays

TL;DR: Numerical results show that relaying with directional antennas, in the forms of uniformly spaced linear antenna arrays, helps improve the system performance significantly in the presence of CCIs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimisation of channel capacity for multiple-input multiple-output smart antenna using a particle swarm optimiser

TL;DR: A particle swarm optimiser (PSO) is used to synthesise the radiation pattern of the directional circular arc array to maximise the capacity performance in an indoor MIMO-UWB communication system.
