This work discusses using a modified version of simulated annealing algorithm to develop an intelligent personal spider (agent), which is based on automatic textual analysis of the Internet documents and hybrid simulatedAnnealing.
Abstract
The World Wide Web (WWW) based Internet services have become a major channel for information delivery. For the same reason, information overload also has become a serious problem to the users of such services. It has been estimated that the amount of information stored on the Internet doubled every 18 months. The speed of increase of home pages can be even faster, some people estimated that it doubled every six months. Therefore, a scalable approach to support Internet searching is critical to the success of Internet services and other current or future National Information Infrastructure (NII) applications. We discuss using a modified version of simulated annealing algorithm to develop an intelligent personal spider (agent), which is based on automatic textual analysis of the Internet documents and hybrid simulated annealing.

Search engine using sales and revenue to weight search results

TL;DR: In this article, a search engine selects one or more search hits from among a plurality of hits, wherein a hit is a reference to a page or a site, based on a user interest, comprising an input module for accepting a query from a user, the query representing an interest of the user; a tracking module for tracking the user's navigation through the plurality of pages, including at least a destination purchase page, the destination purchase being a page from which the user makes a purchase; a sales module which records associations between purchases and queries where the associations are provided, at least in
