Ṣan‘ā’ 1 and the Origins of the Qur’ān

TL;DR: De Gruyter et al. as mentioned in this paper analyzed the lower text of the DAM 1 folio of the Qur'a and concluded that the sūras were formed earlier and that the inception of some Qur’a textual traditions must have involved semi-oral transmission, most likely via hearers who wrote down a text that was recited by the Prophet.
