TLDR
In this article, the boundary conditions for large deflection of rectangular sandwich plates were derived using the principle of complementary energy, and the governing differential equations were transformed into systems of nonlinear algebraic equations using the finite difference method, and solved by successive iteration.

Non-linear analysis of skew thin plate by finite difference method

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors deal with a discrete analysis capability for predicting the geometrically nonlinear behavior of skew thin plate subjected to uniform pressure by means of the finite difference method which is used to determine the deflections and the in-plane stress functions of plates and reduced to several sets of linear algebraic simultaneous equations.

Finite deflection of sandwich panels resting on elastic supports

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors adopt more realistic approaches incorporating geometric nonlinearity of the structure by using more exact finite-displacement, strain-disparacement equations, which can be applied to sandwich panels.
