Experimental and kinetic study of NO oxidation on model Pt catalysts
TL;DR: In this article, a global kinetic model is proposed which includes the inhibiting effect of NO 2 on the NO oxidation reaction, and the model predicts the experimental observations for a wide range of temperatures within acceptable error limits.

Modelling of soot oxidation by NO2 in various types of diesel particulate filters
TL;DR: In this article, a 2D nonstationary model of the filter, soot filtration and regeneration with detailed kinetics of soot combustion, and spatially 1D plug-flow model of DOC are presented and utilized to compare various catalytic systems for soot oxidation by NO 2 and O 2.

Overall mass transfer coefficients and controlling regimes in catalytic monoliths
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present analytical criteria for determining the transition temperatures of a catalytic monolith to the external mass transfer control regime at sufficiently high temperatures (or after ignition).

Experimental study of mass transfer limitations in Fe- and Cu-zeolite-based NH3-SCR monolithic catalysts
TL;DR: In this paper, a steady-state selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO x with NH 3 on both Fe-ZSM-5 and Cu-Z SM-5 monolithic catalysts was carried out to investigate the extent of mass transfer limitations.

Monoliths in Heterogeneous Catalysis
TL;DR: Structured catalysts are promising as far as elimination of these setbacks is concerned as discussed by the authors, however, conventional fixed-bed reactors have some obvious disadvantages such as maldistributions of various kinds (including a nonuniform access of reactants to the catalytic surface), high pressure drop in the bed, etc.

A comparison of lumped and distributed models of monolith catalytic combustors
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the adequacy of lumped models of catalytic combustors by comparison with the more detailed and numerically expensive distributed ones, and pointed out that the results showed that, for long enough monolith segments, gas exit temperatures predicted by one-dimensional models compare well with those provided by distributed models.
