Graham Swift,Harry J. Cenci +1 more
TLDR
In this article, self-curing copolymers containing carboxy and β-hydroxyalkylamide functionality are disclosed, either known compounds or may be prepared by treating an ester with an appropriately substituted amine.Abstract:
β-HYDROXYALKYLAMIDES AND CERTAIN POLYMERS THEREOF ARE DISCLOSED AS CURING AGENTS FOR POLYMERS CONTAINING ONE OR MORE CARBOXY OR ANHYDRIDE FUNCTIONS. Also, self-curing copolymers containing carboxy and β-hydroxyalkylamide functionality are disclosed. The β-hydroxyalkylamides are either known compounds or may be prepared by treating an ester with an appropriately substituted amine. The β-hydroxyalkylamides are effective in solution, aqueous emulsion and powder coating formulations.read more

Powder coating compositions
TL;DR: A powder coating composition of the invention as mentioned in this paper comprises a film-forming polymeric component having a d(v,50) in the range of from 25 to 50 microns or a d (v,70), where the latter is defined by dry-blending at least one appearance-modifying additive component and a further component comprising wax-coated silica or consisting of alumina together with aluminium hydroxide.

Curable aqueous composition and use as fiberglass nonwoven binder
TL;DR: In this paper, a formaldehyde-free curable aqueous composition containing a polyacid, a polyol and a phosphorous-containing accelerator was proposed for heat resistant nonwovens.

Surface-treated superabsorbent polymer particles
TL;DR: In this article, surface crosslinking of superabsorbent polymer particles with a hydroxyalkylamide substantially increases both the rate of liquid absorption and the quantity of liquid absorbed and retained by the particles.
Patent
Fibrous glass binders
TL;DR: A fibrous glass binder comprises a polycarboxy polymer, a β-hydroxyalkylamide, and an at least trifunctional monomeric carboxylic acid as discussed by the authors.
Patent
Formaldehyde-free aqueous binders
Hummerich Rainer,Axel Kistenmacher,Walter Denzinger,Gunnar Schornick,Bernd Reck,Manfred Weber +5 more
TL;DR: Aqueous aqueous binders containing a polymer consisting of 5 to 100% of an unsaturated acid anhydride or an ethylenically unsaturated bicarboxylic acid can form an anhydric group, and an alkanol amine with at least two hydroxyl groups.

Caulking composition comprising polymer having addition polymerized backbone having carboxyl groups esterified with drying oil fatty acid hydroxyamide
TL;DR: In this paper, the caulking or sealing composition of the invention has as its binder an acrylic backbone containing pendant unsaturated groups, preferably derived from drying oil fatty acids, and attached to the acrylic backbone through amidoester linkages.

Two-step process for producing water-soluble alkyd resins
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a method to give an ALKYD resin with an ACID number of between 30 to 100 and a low-gardner color, at a temperature of about 110*C to 260*C. The reaction product is then COOLED to about 80*-180 *C.
