A path planning control for a vessel dynamic positioning system based on robust adaptive fuzzy strategy

TL;DR: In this article , a robust adaptive fuzzy control model was proposed to reduce the effect of uncertainty problems and disturbances on the dynamic positioning system (DPS) of vessels in the path planning control process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Self-Adaptive Fuzzy Control Approach for Jack-up Rig Jacking System Based on Particle Swarm Optimization

- 01 Jan 2022 -
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated how to adapt to the effects of external forces and hydrodynamic amplification using a particle swarm optimization strategy based on a fuzzy controller and proposed the PSO - Self Adaptive Fuzzy Controller (PSO-SAFC) guaranteed by Lyapunov criteria.

Sliding Mode Control With Mixed Current and Delayed States for Offshore Steel Jacket Platforms

TL;DR: It is shown through simulation results that this scheme is more effective in both improving the control performance and reducing control force of the offshore platform than some existing ones, such as delay-free sliding mode control, nonlinear control, dynamic output feedback control, and delayed dynamicoutput feedback control.
Journal ArticleDOI

A review of vibration control methods for marine offshore structures

TL;DR: A review of vibration control techniques and their application for marine offshore structures is presented in this article, where the general trend is progressing towards semi-active and hybrid vibration control from passive or active control, as they provide more practical approaches for implementation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Offshore Wind Turbine Load Reduction Employing Optimal Passive Tuned Mass Damping Systems

TL;DR: This paper will investigate a fixed-bottom monopile as well as a barge, spar buoy, and tension-leg platform for the floating platforms, and a set of optimum passive tuned mass dampers developed by creating a limited degree offreedom model for each of the four offshore wind platforms.

Response of fixed offshore platforms to wave and current loading including soil–structure interaction

TL;DR: In this paper, the response of fixed offshore platforms supported by clusters of piles is investigated and the soil resistance to the pile movement is modelled using dynamic p- y curves and t- z curves to account for soil nonlinearity and energy dissipation through radiation damping.

Review of offshore energy in Malaysia and floating Spar platform for sustainable exploration

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated Malaysia's experience in offshore hydrocarbon exploration and reviewed various kinds of operational Spar platforms and their recent technical developments, showing that Malaysia's primary energy requirements were met (in year 2008) with natural gas by 43.4% of the total, crude oil by 38.2%, coal by 15.3% and hydropower by 3.1%.
