Abstract
This paper deals with an extension of moire holography for structural analysis on reinforced plate models. It is shown that unequal optical paths, caused by lack of uniform thickness, are compensated for and do not alter the moire fringe patterns. Moreover, a simple technique is described for replicating high-sensitivity moire gratings on Plexiglas models. The validity of the method has been satisfactorily tested on plate models with different geometries.

Application of the holographic moiré technique to the analysis of composite materials

TL;DR: In this article, the application of the reflective moire holographic technique in analysing opaque materials such as composites is discussed and some limits of the method, common to other interferometric techniques, are outlined.

Moiré interferometry at VPI & SU

TL;DR: In this article, a relatively easy technique for producing high-frequency gratings on specimens extends moire techniques into the high-sensitivity domain, with grating frequencies of 1200, 2400 and 4000 l/mm (30,480, 60,960 and 101,600 l/in.).

Moiré-Holographic Technique for Three-Dimensional Stress Analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors combined the moire method with hologram interferometry to obtain the three displacements of an arbitrarily deformed plane in the three-dimensional space, and double beam interference patterns were utilized.

Optical Differentiation Of Moire-Holographic Fringes By Wavefront Reconstruction With White Light Sources

TL;DR: In this paper, a Fourier transform optical system is used to reconstruct frozen moire patterns by means of a white source, filtering one among the chromatic wavefronts at the first diffracted order.

Moire -Holographic Analysis Of Bent Plates With Non-Uniform Thickness

G. Di Chirico, +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new extension of moire-holography to the analysis of plates with non-uniform thickness, in particular orthotropic plates, is presented. But the authors do not consider the case where the surface of the grating is not uniform.
