Journal ArticleDOI

Effective interfacial area in liquid—liquid extraction

TL;DR: In this article, the results of liquid extraction accompanied by fast pseudo-first order reaction were used to evaluate the effective area of the interface between the two liquids, and it was found that the alkaline hydrolysis of formate esters could be conveniently employed for this purpose.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solubility, liquid–liquid equilibrium and critical states for the quaternary system acetic acid–ethanol–ethyl acetate–water at 293.15 K

TL;DR: In this paper, the solubility, critical states and liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for the quaternary system acetic acid-ethanol-ethyl acetate-water and for the ternary sub-systems acetic acids and water were obtained at 293.15 K and atmospheric pressure.
Journal ArticleDOI

CO from CO2 and fluctuating renewable energy via formic-acid derivatives

TL;DR: In this article, a hierarchical model-based approach was used to identify the most efficient storage molecule, together with an optimal combination of solvent and process flowsheet, for formamides or formates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water/ester systems. II. Solubility studies

TL;DR: In this paper, a solubility study of some esters in water was made and the influence of ester structure was studied and empirical relations were established with regard to salt effects, the particular effect of the benzoate ion was pointed out.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vapor-liquid equilibria and enthalpies of mixing in a temperature range from 298.15 to 413.15 K for the further development of Modified UNIFAC (Dortmund)

TL;DR: Isothermal P−x data (VLE) and excess enthalpy (hE) data for the binary systems methyl formate, ethyl formate and butyl formates + water and toluene + 1,2-ethanediol have been measured with the help of a computer-operated static apparatus and an isothermal flow calorimeter as discussed by the authors.
