Modelling of wave loads and hydraulic performance of vertical permeable structures
TL;DR: Using an eigenfunction expansion method, the potential flow around and inside vertical porous breakwaters has been solved for regular waves in this paper, where analytical expressions for functional performance variables (reflection, transmission and dissipation) and for stability (horizontal and vertical forces including the corresponding overturning moments) have been obtained.
Dissertation
Journal ArticleDOI
Laboratory Tests on the Reflection Coefficient of a Perforated Caisson
TL;DR: In this paper, a perforated vertical wall caisson has been tested with both irregular and regular waves, reproducing mild wave conditions and design wave conditions, and the effect of the wave obliquity and of the short crestedness on the reflection coefficient is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
ARPEC: A novel staggered perforated permeable caisson breakwater for wave absorption and harbour flushing
TL;DR: The ARPEC as discussed by the authors is an anti-reflection PErmeable Caisson breakwater that allows a significant wave energy dissipation and a hydraulic connection between the sea side and the port side by means of a labyrinthine pattern of offset openings.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
