TLDR
Spectral properties of rare earth phosphate phosphors are presented and compared to rare earth oxide phosphors studied previously as discussed by the authors, and it is shown that hanging to a phosphate host does not affect the wavelengths produced, but has a major effect on the total energy efficiency as well as the intensity of the emission lines produced relative to one another.
Abstract
Spectral properties of rare earth phosphate phosphors are presented and compared to rare earth oxide phosphors studied previously. It is shown that hanging to a phosphate host does not affect the wavelengths produced, but has a major effect on the total energy efficiency as well as the intensity of the emission lines produced relative to one another. The latter observation is attributed to site symmetry effects on transition probabilities from an emitting energy level.

The 5d level positions of the trivalent lanthanides in inorganic compounds

TL;DR: The literature on 4f n ↔4f n −1 5d transitions of the trivalent lanthanides in inorganic compounds has been collected as mentioned in this paper from critically analyzing fd-excitation, absorption, reflection and df-emission spectra, values for the spectroscopic red shift of 5d levels and the stokes shift were determined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lanthanide-doped nanoparticles with excellent luminescent properties in organic media

TL;DR: In this paper, surface-coated nanoparticles of LaF3 and LaPO4 doped with the luminescent trivalent lanthanide ions Eu3+, Nd3+, Er3+, Pr3+, Ho3+, and Yb3+ have been prepared.

Liquid-Phase Synthesis of Doped Nanoparticles: Colloids of Luminescing LaPO4:Eu and CePO4:Tb Particles with a Narrow Particle Size Distribution

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used X-ray powder diffraction measurements and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy to confirm doping and energy transfer in LaPO4Eu and CePO4:Tb.

Sol–gel synthesis and photoluminescent properties of LaPO4:A (A = Eu3+, Ce3+, Tb3+) nanocrystalline thin films

TL;DR: In this article, a Pechini sol-gel process combined with soft lithography on silicon and silica glass substrates was used to fabricate rare earth ion (Eu3+, Tb3+, Ce3+)-doped LaPO4 nanocrystalline thin films.

Colloidal Synthesis of Luminescent Rhabdophane LaPO4:Ln3+·xH2O (Ln = Ce, Tb, Eu; x ≈ 0.7) Nanocrystals

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors showed that polyphosphate groups act both as a source of orthophosphate and as complexing agents to crystallize and stabilize LnPO4·xH2O (x ≈ 0.7) nanoparticles.
