PI3K/Akt signaling pathway and liver fibrosis
TLDR
This review briefly summarizes the PI3K/Akt pathway's structure, intracellular signaling cascades and its role in liver fibrosis.Abstract:
Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt(PI3K/Akt) signal pathway is an important intracellular signal transduction pathway. It plays important roles in inhibiting cell apoptosis and stimulating cell proliperation.PI3K/Akt signal transduction pathway is closely related to the occurrence and development of liver fibrosis. It is a promising way to study the pathogenesis and therapy of liver fibrosis through intervention of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. This review briefly summarizes the PI3K/Akt pathway's structure, intracellular signaling cascades and its role in liver fibrosis.read more

Prostate epithelial-specific expression of activated PI3K drives stromal collagen production and accumulation.
Kyle A Wegner,Brett Mueller,Christopher J Unterberger,Enrique J Avila,Hannah Ruetten,Anne E. Turco,Steven R Oakes,Nicholas M Girardi,Richard B. Halberg,Steven M. Swanson,Paul C. Marker,Chad M. Vezina +11 more
TL;DR: The results indicate a signaling process beginning with prostatic epithelial PI3K and TGF‐β signaling that drives prostatic stromal hypertrophy and collagen accumulation that drives prostate‐specific collagen accumulation in mice.

Expression of Ang-2/Tie-2 and PI3K/AKT in Colorectal Cancer
Ji Hong Zhang,Li Hua Wang,Xiang Jun Li,Ai Ping Wang,Li Qun Reng,Feng Guo Xia,Zhi Ping Yang,Jing Jiang,Xiao Dan Wang,Chun Yang Wen +9 more
TL;DR: In colorectal cancer, the expression of the Ang- 2, Tie-2, PI3K, and AKT genes and their proteins is markedly higher than those in tumor-adjacent normal tissues.
