Pitting corrosion on FeCr and FeCrNi alloys
TLDR
In this paper, a mechanism for the formation of irregular pits is proposed, probably caused by the presence of carbides on grain boundaries, and the current-time relationship of the form i = kt3 was in general not obeyed.About:

Synthetic microspheres and methods of making same
Amlan Datta,Hamid Hojaji,David Leslie Melmeth,James A. Mcfarlane,Thinh Pham,Noel E. Thompson,Huagang Zhang +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a synthetic microsphere having a low alkali metal oxide content and methods of forming the microspheres and its components are provided, which is substantially chemically inert and thus a suitable replacement for natural cenospheres, particularly in caustic environments such as cementitious mixtures.

Effect of halide concentration on tribocorrosion behaviour of 304SS in artificial seawater
TL;DR: In this article, the dependence of tribocorrosion on halide ions concentration in seawater is taken into consideration, and it follows that halide can improve solution lubricity and reduce friction coefficient and wear rate remarkably.

The effect of chloride concentration on early stages of pitting for type 304 stainless steel revealed by the AC impedance method
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of chloride concentration on early stages of pitting for Type 304 stainless steel has been studied by using an AC impedance method, and it is shown that the Warburg impedance coefficient increases with increasing chloride concentration at low potentials in the passive region when the diffusion process begins to occur at the surface.

Untersuchungen über die Lochfraßkorrosion des passiven Eisens in chlorionenhaltiger Schwefelsäure
TL;DR: In this paper, the pitting corrosion by halogen ions on passive metals is investigated using passive iron in chloride ion-containing sulphuric acid as the model system, and the results show that the metal is active in the pits, too.
