Adaptive fuzzy gain scheduling for load frequency control

TL;DR: An adaptive fuzzy gain scheduling scheme for conventional PI and optimal load frequency controllers and a Sugeno type fuzzy inference system is used in the proposed controller.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimum allocation of battery energy storage systems for power grid enhanced with solar energy

TL;DR: A method is proposed that optimally deployed BESSs and determined their capacity in a two-part framework to minimize solar energy curtailment, by considering network topology and power flow constraints and demonstrates that it manages to store more surplus solar power.

The role of power exchanges for the creation of a single European electricity market: market Design and market regulation

TL;DR: In this article, the role of electricity power exchanges in the recently liberalized electricity markets of Europe is analyzed and the key questions considered are the functioning of these power exchanges with respect to electricity characteristics, market design and regulatory framework.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cooperative Control of Power System Load and Frequency by Using Differential Games

TL;DR: Comparing the proposed three DG-based LFC schemes with the traditional approaches based on proportional-integral control and the optimal control, the results show that the cooperative control schemes allocate the regulation burden more rationally and ensure the CAs' sticking to the LFC command, which will be favorable to the stability of power system operation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimal placement of capacitors in a radial network using conic and mixed integer linear programming

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered the problem of placing fixed and switched type capacitors in a radial distribution network to minimize the costs associated with capacitors, peak power, and energy losses.
