PMUs and SCADA Measurements in Power System State Estimation through Bayesian Inference

TL;DR: A Bayesian inference approach in the form of a new State Estimator for transmission systems able to deal with the different sampling rates of PMU measurements and when load variation occurs during the time interval between two SCADA data scans is introduced.

Fault Type Estimation in Power Systems

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present an approach for fault type estimation in power systems based on time-domain state estimation where redundant measurements are available, which allows a linear mapping between the measured variable and the states to be estimated.

Calibrating Instrument Transformers with Phasor Measurements

TL;DR: In this article, a new method for calibrating instrument transformers utilizing phasor measurements by estimating instrument transformer's ratio correction factors and phase angle correction factors is proposed. But this method does not require accurate instrument transformer models and can be executed as often as needed to keep the calibration up to date.

Optimal PMU placement based on Mean Square Error using Differential Evolution algorithm

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method for optimal placement of phasor measurement units (PMUs) to have a minimum Mean Square Error (MSE) from state estimation.
