Laminar Flow Across a Bank of Low Aspect Ratio Micro Pin Fins

TL;DR: The applicability of conventional scale correlations to evaluate micro flow tests results has been assessed in this paper, where pin fins were arranged according to two different horizontal and vertical pitch ratios (1.5 and 5).

Convective heat transfer and pressure losses across novel heat sinks fabricated by Selective Laser Melting

TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal and fluid flow characteristics of five heat sinks that have been fabricated by a rapid manufacturing technique known as Selective Laser Melting are presented, and the experimental results for the rectangular fin were compared with data from the literature and were found to be consistent.

Pressure drop in cross flow across tube bundles

E.S. Gaddis, +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the commonest methods of calculating the pressure drop in cross flow across tube bundles are discussed, and a new method, which is valid over a wide range of Reynolds numbers, is described.

Numerical simulation of fluid flow through an array of diamond-shaped pin fins

TL;DR: In this article, numerical solutions for the fluid flow in a heat exchanger consisting of an array of diamond-shaped pin fins were obtained for the periodic fully developed regime, whereby the velocity field repeats itself from row to row and the pressure field also repeats periodically relative to a linear axial decrease.
