Abstract
Elsewhere in this issue (pp 1362 and 1368) two communications seeks to offer solutions for some of the problems associated with finding appropriate words to be used in communicating about health careers. Misunderstandings, confusion, and ill will sometimes develop among students, educators, and clinicians in various health occupations, as well as among spokesmen for different professional organizations. The source of these undesirable reactions can often be identified as lack of uniformity in terminology applied to the various occupational groups, and terminology applied to the functions performed by members of the groups. Urgent Abdominal Re-Explorations

TL;DR: Urgent Abdominal Re-explorations that are performed following complicated abdominal surgeries have high mortality rates, and UARs have higher mortality rates following GIS surgeries or when infectious complications occur.

Human Impacts on Geodiversity and Associated Natural Values of Bedrock Hills in the Mekong Delta

TL;DR: The Mekong Delta has been the arena of multiple episodes of armed conflict as discussed by the authors and these uses have degraded the natural environmental values but in some cases led to accrual of cultural heritage value that has accentuated recently growing pressures from recreation and commercial tourism.

Analysis of Early Relaparotomy After Lower Gastrointestinal System Surgery

TL;DR: Relaparotomy performed soon after major lower GIS surgery is associated with a high mortality rate, and complicated surgery should ideally be performed by experienced surgeons in fully equipped facilities to decrease both the RL and mortality rates.

Urgent Redo-Laparotomies: Patterns and Outcome—A Single Centre Experience

TL;DR: A proportion of the operations performed in a surgical gastroenterology department are unplanned repeat laparotomies for complications of the original procedure, and multiple redolaparotomie and associated co-morbid conditions are significant predictors of mortality.
