TLDR
In this article, a gas analyzing system using sonic wave shift over tubular gas column is described. But the authors do not specify the type of known gas component that causes the phase shift.Abstract:
Gas analyzing system using sonic wave shift over tubular gas column. Reference gas passed through column calibrates system to zero reference level. Sample gas having unknown amount of known gas component causes shift of wavelength distance in column. Phase comparator looks at shifted signal over ±90° of phase shift. Integrator responds to comparator output to give dc output signal proportional to phase shift. Compensating circuits in final amplifier estimate probable final value based on rate of change of initial comparator output and use same to drive output meter.read more

Method and apparatus for detecting hydrogen, oxygen and water vapor concentrations in a host gas
TL;DR: In this article, sound waves are generated in a sonic cell and propagated through a gas to a sensor which is coupled to a microcomputer, which calculates the concentrations of at least two gaseous constituents such as hydrogen and water vapor, in the gas mixture.

TL;DR: In this article, a respiratory assistance apparatus has a gas inlet configured to receive a supply of gases, a blower unit configured to generate a pressurised gases stream from the supply of gas, a humidification unit configurable to heat and humidify the gas stream; and a gases outlet for the heated and humidified gases stream.

Reduction of pressure induced temperature influence on the speed of sound in a gas
TL;DR: In this paper, a measurement chamber has a chamber defining structure, a gas inlet and a gas outlet, an ultrasound source and an ultrasound detector mounted such that the ultrasound source is capable of transmitting ultrasound through the chamber to the ultrasound detector; a temperature sensor was mounted to sense the temperature in the chamber.

Method and system for predicting steady state conditions from transient monotonic or cyclic data
TL;DR: In this paper, the steady state condition of a subject product is projected using transient data which represents monotonic or cyclic property states (110) developed through actual or simulated tests or operations.
Patent
Continuous wave sonic analyzer
TL;DR: In this paper, the phase shift between two signals corresponds to the speed of sound through the gas and is related to the composition of the gas, and the electonic versions of these signals are processed by lowering, or dividing, the fixed frequency which expands the range of phase shift measurement and allows the determination of an expanded range for the gas composition.

Absorption of Ultrasonic Waves by Various Gases
TL;DR: In this paper, a beam of ultrasonic waves with a frequency of 612 kilocycles from an oscillating quartz crystal was passed through a mixture of gas and air, contained in a brass absorption tube with ends covered by thin celluloid films.
