Observability and controllability of piecewise affine and hybrid systems

TL;DR: It is proved through counterexamples that observability and controllability properties cannot be easily deduced from those of the component linear subsystems, and practical numerical tests based on mixed-integer linear programming are proposed.

Canonical Cuts on the Unit Hypercube

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors define a distance function on the set V of vertices of K and use it to construct a class of hyperplanes parallel to the faces of K (canonical hyperplanes), and establish some properties of these hyperplanes and of the associated canonical inequalities (cuts).
