TLDR
A rotatable vacuum flange as discussed by the authors includes a flange ring (10) having a recess (20), an insert (30) mounted in the recess of the flange, and a wire spring (50) positioned between the wire spring and the insert.Abstract:
A rotatable vacuum flange includes a flange ring (10) having a recess (20), an insert (30) mounted in the recess (20) in the flange ring (10), the insert (30) including a seal portion (34) and being adapted for vacuum-tight attachment to a vacuum conduit (40), and a wire spring (50) positioned between the flange ring (10) and the insert (30). The wire spring (50) retains the insert (30) in the recess (20) in the flange ring (10) and permits rotation of the insert (30) relative to the flange ring (10). The flange ring (10) and the insert (30) include grooves (44) located in opposing alignment to receive the wire spring (50).read more

Wellhead flange for interconnecting a threaded wellhead and a flanged blowout preventer
TL;DR: In this paper, the threaded end of an upwardly projecting screw wellhead was interconnected with the lower flange of a blowout preventer by means of a threaded adapter.
Patent
Inhibitors of E-, P- and L-selectin binding
TL;DR: In this paper, aldolase was used to synthesize inhibitors of E-, P- and L-selectin binding, which were employed for blocking neutrophil inflamatory conditions.
Patent
Passageway aligned coupling and process
TL;DR: In this paper, an alignment and sealing arrangement for connecting two non-gender opposed conduit parts (20) and (20') is described, where one seal is removed from direct contact with media, eliminating any appreciable media entrapment space and desirably reducing flow disturbance along passageways of conduits.
Patent
Minimal thickness, double-sided flanges for ultra-high vacuum components
TL;DR: In this paper, a thin flange with a diameter and a thickness of 0.28 inches was proposed for use with a vacuum flange, where a first face having a first sealing surface and a second face opposed and substantially parallel to the first face.
Patent
Load segment assembly with wire rope
TL;DR: In this paper, a load segment assembly for pipe swivel joints or pipe connectors locks male and female hubs of a joint together while providing an axial bearing therebetween, requiring a flexible joining member to be threaded therethrough, providing maximum shear and bearing strength.

Patent
Self-anchorable pipe joint
TL;DR: In this article, a self-anchorable pipe joint with an annular sealing member is described, which is more resistant to leakage on angular misalignment than previous joints, having an anchoring face at about 60* to its axis.
Patent
Strain-limiting connector
TL;DR: A strain-limiting connector for releasably holding a removable object, such as a fluid conduit coupling or the like, in tightly clamped relation against a support member including a body of substantially rigid deflectable material mountable on the support member in a predetermined maximum stressed condition and having a gripping portion for engagement with the removable object as discussed by the authors.
Patent
Self-aligning tube fitting
TL;DR: Christon as discussed by the authors is a gas-tight fitting which is an improvement over the lip-seal fitting shown in U.S. Pat. No. 3,672,704 (Roger D. Christianson, inventor).

Flange connection for pressure conduits

TL;DR: In this article, Manningmann et al. showed that the projected dimension of the area of contact of the shoulder in the direction of the pipe axis is greater than the similar area of contacts of the intermediate ring with the abutment surface of the flange and the external diameter of the ring is smaller than the sum of the internal diameter thereof and four times the cross-sectional radius of curvature of a shoulder.
