TLDR
In this paper, a kinetic study of the selectivity of partial chemical extractions applied to Cu minerals has been carried out in order to establish a systematic procedure (reagents, extraction plateau, etc.) which could be recommended for soils of the two study zones.

Mobilisation of arsenic at the Talhadas old mining area—Central Portugal

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the As geochemical character at the former Talhadas old mine (Central Portugal) and investigate the mechanisms controlling the mobility of the element in tailings and the consequent impact on surface water downstream of tailing location.

Geochemical signatures and mechanisms of trace elements dispersion in the area of the Vale das Gatas mine (Northern Portugal)

TL;DR: A geochemical survey involving the collection and analysis of 170 stream sediment samples was carried out in the Vale das Gatas area in order to delineate geochemical signatures and to detect pollution hazards due to mining.

Improvement of mineralogical and chemical characterization to predict the acid leaching of geometallurgical units from Mina Sur, Chuquicamata, Chile

TL;DR: In this article, chemical and mineralogical changes were studied during experimental sulphuric acid leaching of oxide copper ores from Mina Sur, Chuquicamata, Chile, to validate predictive tools for the heap leaching process.

Experimental leaching of atacamite, chrysocolla and malachite: Relationship between copper retention and cation exchange capacity

TL;DR: Copper retention due to chemical and physical interaction with reactive gangues has been studied during sulphuric acid leaching of atacamite, chrysocolla and malachite, using a synthetic rock (57% quartz, 42% reactive gangue and 1% ore) as discussed by the authors.

Use of partial dissolution techniques in geochemical exploration

TL;DR: Partial dissolution techniques are classified as single dissolution or sequential multiple dissolution depending on the number of steps taken in the procedure, or as nonselective extraction and as "selective" extraction in terms of the relative specificity of the extraction as mentioned in this paper.

The selective extraction of Pb and Zn in selected mineral and soil samples, application in geochemical exploration (Portugal)

TL;DR: In this article, a kinetic study of partial chemical extractions applied to minerals of Pb and Zn was undertaken in order to establish a systematic procedure (reagents, time of extraction, etc.) which could be recommended for the soils of the study area in Portugal.

Potassium chlorate—hydrochloric acid: a sulphide selective leach for bedrock geochemistry

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the performance of potassium chlorate-hydrochloric acid and ascorbic acid-hydrogen peroxide, aqua regia, and nitric perchloric as a sulphide-selective leach for bedrock geochemistry, and concluded that the procedure is probably more selective than the other leaches and has the advantages of rapidity and simplicity.
