TLDR
In this paper, an extensive test program for the investigation of the SHEAR RESISTANCE of reinforced CONCRETE beams was carried out and the results of these tests led to the classification of SHEAR FAILURES into four basic models: DIAGONAL TENSION, SHEARING, SHARING COMPRESSION, and WEB CRUSHING.
Abstract
AN EXTENSIVE TEST PROGRAM FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF THE SHEAR RESISTANCE OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS WAS CARRIED OUT. SIXTY-THREE T, I, AND RECTANGULAR BEAMS WITH VARYING CROSS SECTION, WEB REINFORCEMENT, LONGITUDINAL REINFORCEMENT, CONCRETE STRENGTH, AND SHEAR SPAN WERE TESTED. STUDY OF THESE AND OTHER RESULTS LEAD TO THE CLASSIFICATION OF SHEAR FAILURES INTO FOUR BASIC MODES. THESE MODES ARE DESCRIBED AND EQUATIONS DEVELOPED FOR THE CALCULATION OF COLLAPSE LOADS FOR FAILURES BY DIAGONAL TENSION, SHEARING, SHEAR COMPRESSION, AND WEB CRUSHING. THE ULTIMATE LOAD IN A GIVEN CASE IS INTRINSIC TO THE FAILURE MODE CORRESPONDING TO THE LEAST STRENGHT AFTER DIAGONAL CRACKING. A FORMULA FOR CALCULATING SHEAR CRACK WIDTHS IS PRESENTED. /AUTHOR/

Modeling of Shear Strength in Rectangular Reinforced Concrete Beams

TL;DR: In this article, a model for the shear capacity of rectangular reinforced concrete beams is proposed, which depends on statistical analysis for 101 experimental results from literatures, as will be indicated.

The equation considering concrete strength and stirrups for diagonal compressive capacity of rc beam

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the effect of compressive strength, stirrup ratio and stirrup spacing on the diagonal compressive capacity of RC beams and proposed the predicting equation for the diagonal CS capacity.

Rotation capacity assessment in developed non prismatic flanged reinforced concrete Tee beams

TL;DR: In this paper, the rotational capacity of reinforced concrete Tee-section reinforced concrete beams of a proposed tapered flange configuration was evaluated and the results confirmed the positive effectiveness of considered in plane non-prismatic flanges within T-section upon elastic and ultimate deflection curves.
