TLDR
In this paper, an extensive test program for the investigation of the SHEAR RESISTANCE of reinforced CONCRETE beams was carried out and the results of these tests led to the classification of SHEAR FAILURES into four basic models: DIAGONAL TENSION, SHEARING, SHARING COMPRESSION, and WEB CRUSHING.
Abstract
AN EXTENSIVE TEST PROGRAM FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF THE SHEAR RESISTANCE OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS WAS CARRIED OUT. SIXTY-THREE T, I, AND RECTANGULAR BEAMS WITH VARYING CROSS SECTION, WEB REINFORCEMENT, LONGITUDINAL REINFORCEMENT, CONCRETE STRENGTH, AND SHEAR SPAN WERE TESTED. STUDY OF THESE AND OTHER RESULTS LEAD TO THE CLASSIFICATION OF SHEAR FAILURES INTO FOUR BASIC MODES. THESE MODES ARE DESCRIBED AND EQUATIONS DEVELOPED FOR THE CALCULATION OF COLLAPSE LOADS FOR FAILURES BY DIAGONAL TENSION, SHEARING, SHEAR COMPRESSION, AND WEB CRUSHING. THE ULTIMATE LOAD IN A GIVEN CASE IS INTRINSIC TO THE FAILURE MODE CORRESPONDING TO THE LEAST STRENGHT AFTER DIAGONAL CRACKING. A FORMULA FOR CALCULATING SHEAR CRACK WIDTHS IS PRESENTED. /AUTHOR/

Rational Approach to Prediction of Shear Capacity of RC Beam-Column Elements

TL;DR: In this paper, a tensorial approach to concrete shear resistance is presented, which is based on a tensor-based approach for the shear capacity evaluation of reinforced concrete members subjected to combined axial, bending, and shear forces.

Shear Strength of Continuous Lightly Reinforced Concrete Joist Systems

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the shear strength of continuous lightly reinforced concrete joist systems and found that significant load sharing occurs between the joists, but that the load sharing is adequate only to distribute local overloads.

Experimental Tests on Parameters Influencing on Shear

TL;DR: In this article, the criteria for obtaining self-compacting fiber reinforced concrete (SCFRC) and the analysis of its production quality continuity in a precast industry and its ulterior application to produce prestressed concrete beams to minimize traditional transverse rebars are discussed.

Study on Accurate Calculation Method for Shear Strength of Reinforced Concrete Deep Beam

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduced a new evaluation method for the shear strength of wall-type pier regarded as a deep beam, where the contribution of shear reinforcing bars obtained by the truss theory and the diagonal compression failure strength of web concrete were taken into account.
