Phase synchronization: from theory to data analysis

TL;DR: This work applies its approach to human posture control data of healthy subjects and neurological patients, to multichannel magnetoencephalography data and records of muscle activity of a Parkinsonian patient, and also uses it to analyse the cardiorespiratory interaction in humans.

Synchronization in Human Cardiorespiratory System.

TL;DR: The analysis of the experimental records reveals synchronous regimes of different orders n:m and transitions between them, and the physiological significance of this finding is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Speech reception thresholds in noise with and without spectral and temporal dips for hearing‐impaired and normally hearing people

TL;DR: In a background that contained both spectral and temporal dips, groups (c) and (d) performed much more poorly than group (a), and the signal-to-background ratio required for 50% intelligibility was about 19 dB higher for group (d).
Journal ArticleDOI

Monitoring fatigue in construction workers using physiological measurements

TL;DR: In this paper, a real-time monitoring of physical fatigue in construction workers using wearable sensors is presented, which is one of the factors leading to reduction in productivity, poor quality of work and increased risk of accidents in construction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Retrieval of water quality from airborne imaging spectrometry of various lake types in different seasons.

TL;DR: In the most humic lake, the empirical algorithms tested were suitable only for the interpretation of total suspended solids and turbidity, and the use of apparent reflectance instead of radiance improved the estimation of water quality in the case of total suspend solidsand turbidity.

Synchronization in the human cardiorespiratory system.

TL;DR: In this article, the synchronization between cardiovascular and respiratory systems in healthy humans under free-running conditions is investigated by analyzing nonstationary irregular bivariate data, namely, electrocardiograms and measurements of respiratory flow.
