La représentativité paléo-écologique des charbons de bois archéologiques issus du bois de feu
TL;DR: In this paper, a methode precise d'echantillonnage, excluant les foyers, and une analyse statistique de la fragmentation sont developpees ici.
Journal ArticleDOI
Functional Redundancy Instead of Species Redundancy Determines Community Stability in a Typical Steppe of Inner Mongolia.
Saruul Kang,Wenjing Ma,Frank Yonghong Li,Qing Zhang,Jianming Niu,Yong Ding,Fang Han,Xiaoli Sun +7 more
TL;DR: The results showed that the spatial stability of plant community production increases with increased supply of soil resources, and the functional redundancy instead of species diversity or species redundancy is correlated with the community stability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wood resources in north-west Portugal: their availability and use from the late Bronze Age to the Roman period
TL;DR: In this paper, the analysis of archaeological charcoal is used to reconstruct the wood resources in north-west Portugal from the late Bronze Age to the Roman period, and the results indicate a similar kind of exploitation of the vegetation by different populations which used a similar range of wood resources.
Journal ArticleDOI
Middle/Late Bronze Age plant communities and their exploitation in the Cávado Basin (NW Portugal) as shown by charcoal analysis: the significance and co-occurrence of Quercus (deciduous) – Fabaceae
TL;DR: In this article, the co-occurrence of Quercus and Fabaceae appears as a distinctive feature in north-western Portugal during Late Prehistory and Protohistory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lorenz partial order: the best known logical framework to define evenness indices
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors argue that Smith and Wilson (1996) failed to define coherently what evenness should be and thus advocated the use of indices of different nature, and propose to use the Lorenz partial order to choose indices that have a behaviour compatible with it.
