TLDR
Triple-filament analyses of three standard lead samples are used to calibrate a mass spectrometer in an absolute sense as discussed by the authors and the bias is 0.0155 percent per mass unit, and the precision (for 95% confidence limits) is ± 0.13% or less for all ratios relative to 204 Pb.

Approximation of terrestrial lead isotope evolution by a two-stage model

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-stage model for terrestrial lead isotope evolution is proposed, which permits the age of the earth to be that of the meteorite system and also yields good model ages for samples of all ages.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ore lead isotope ratios in a continuously changing earth

TL;DR: In this paper, a critical re-assessment of the construction of simple ore lead isotopic development curves is followed by three fresh approximations, all designed to involve the minimum possible number of assumptions.

Geochemistry and origin of the early Precambrian crust of northeastern Minnesota

TL;DR: In this paper, the origin of the Early Precambrian greenstone-granite complex of northeastern Minnesota consists of four major groups: metavolcanic tholeiitic basalt and basaltic andesite, trondhjemite, tonalite, extrusive and hypabyssal dacite and rhyodacite.

Common-Pb corrected in situ U–Pb accessory mineral geochronology by LA-MC-ICP-MS

TL;DR: In this paper, the LA-MC-ICP-MS is used for the determination of U-Pb ages of accessory minerals using a raster ablation protocol and an external ablation standard used to quantify an overall error.
Journal ArticleDOI

U-Pb geochronology of Archean magmatism and basement reactivation in the Carajás area, Amazon shield, Brazil

TL;DR: In this paper, a U-Pb study of the Itacaiunas Supergroup and a locality in the Xingu Complex is presented, which indicates that the Salobo Group is part of the Cigano, Bahia and Rio Fresco groups.

The significance of lead isotopes in detrital feldspar with respect to chemical differentiation within the earth's mantle

TL;DR: On a continental scale, leads in K-feldspars from North America were found to deviate from closed system evolution such that there is an excess of Pb206 and, in lesser extent, Pb208 which increases as the age of the feldspar decreases as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Primary isochron of zero age for meteorites and the Earth

TL;DR: The present values for the isotopic composition of primordial lead in iron meteorites are Pb206/Pb204 = 9.56, Pb207/P b204 = 10.42, and Pb208/Pbb204 = 29.71.
