Filipin vs enzymatic localization of cholesterol in guinea pig, mink, and mallard duck testicular cells.:
R M Pelletier,M L Vitale +1 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that filipin mapping of cholesterol induces false-negative cytochemical results and the enzymatic method is superior to filipIn because it allows localization of free cholesterol in junctional membranes and of cholesterol esters in lipid droplets.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microscopic and histochemical manifestations of hyaline cartilage dynamics.
TL;DR: It is shown that in conjunction with ultrastructural, and high-magnification transmission light and polarization microscopy, the well-developed histochemical methods are indispensable for the analysis of cartilage dynamics.

Crystal Structure of an Intramolecular Mesaconyl-Coenzyme A Transferase From the 3-Hydroxypropionic Acid Cycle of Roseiflexus castenholzii
Zhenzhen Min,Xin Zhang,Wenping Shang Di Haidian Dist. Wu,Yueyong Xin,Menghua Liu,Kangle Wang,Xingwei Zhang,Yun He,Chengpeng Fan,Zhiguo Wang,Xiaoling Xu +10 more
TL;DR: A previously unrecognized mechanism for the uncommon intramolecular CoA transfer reaction is revealed, which will not only broaden the knowledge on the catalytic mechanisms of CoAtransferases, but also contribute to enzyme engineering or biosynthetic applications of the 3-HP cycle for synthesis of fine chemicals and important metabolites.
