Experimental practices in economics: A methodological challenge for psychologists?-Open Peer Commentary-Different perspective of human behavior entail different experimental practices

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider four features of experimentation in economics, namely, script enactment, repeated trials, performance-based monetary payments, and the proscription against deception, and compare them to experimental practices in psychology, primarily in the area of behavioral decision making.
Dissertation

A critical analysis of the role of statistical significance testing in education research, with special attention to mathematics education

Yui-kin Ng
TL;DR: In this paper, the role of statistical significance testing (SST) in education has been discussed and a thorough discussion of common misconceptions associated with SST and the major arguments for and against SST is presented.
DissertationDOI

Supplier integration for new product developments: antecedents for supplier integration in modular product designs

Justus Eggers
TL;DR: In this paper, a qualitative analysis detects supplier characteristics for module developments by looking at three cases from different four wheel vehicle industries, and the identified supplier characteristics are tested empirically in regards to joint developments between buyers-suppliers (grey-box) and self-conducted supplier developments (black-box).

Reply to comments on « The modern hypothesis testing hybrid : R.A. Fisher's fading influence »

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the nature du "test de signification d'une hypothese nulle" (NHST) presente peu de ressemblance avec le modele propose par Fisher il y a quelque quatre-vingts years.

Analysis of quantum-mechanical states of the Mie-type ring shaped model via the Fisher's information entropy

TL;DR: In this paper, the radial Schrodinger equation with the Mie-type ring-shaped diatomic molecular potential was studied and the probability distribution density of the system which gives the probability density for observing the electron in the state characterized by the quantum numbers $(n, l, m)$ was obtained.
Dissertation

New models and algorithms for semi-naive Bayesian classification focused on the AODE paradigm.

TL;DR: This dissertation works with the family of semi-naive Bayesian network classifiers (BNCs) that either do not perform structural learning or it is very simple, and presents four new classifiers based on AODE, one of the most efficient and effective approaches to alleviate naive Bayes' independence assumption.

The role of peer-created content in digital advertising : Perceptions of sponsored and non-sponsored recommendations on Instagram, its recognition as a product advertisement and its effects on the level of trustworthiness.

TL;DR: The boom of social media, allowed for a rapid exchange of information and ideas in a rapidly changing environment, and led to the development of new communication and business channels.
Journal ArticleDOI

cPSCLASS: A CONSTRUCTIVE PARTICLE SWARM CLASSIFIER

TL;DR: This paper presents a proposal for a classification algorithm, called Constructive Particle Swarm Classifier (cPSClass), which uses mechanisms from the Particles Swarm Clustering algorithm and Artificial Immune Systems to determine dynamically the number of prototypes from a database and use them to predict the correct class to which a new input object should belong.
Journal ArticleDOI

Probability: A new logico-semantical approach

TL;DR: In this article, a link between modal logic and mathematical probability theory is revealed by adding an operator (and two further connectives and constants) to a system of lower predicate calculus and regarding the models of that extended system.
