Detecting Ecological Changes with a Remote Sensing Based Ecological Index (RSEI) Produced Time Series and Change Vector Analysis

TL;DR: This study has improved a newly-proposed remote sensing based ecological index with a sharpened land surface temperature image and then used the improved index to produce the time series of ecological-status images, showing that the RSEI-CVA approach would serve as a prototype method to quantify and detect ecological changes and hence promote ecological change detection at various scales.

Evaluation of Spatiotemporal Variations of Global Fractional Vegetation Cover Based on GIMMS NDVI Data from 1982 to 2011

TL;DR: The results indicated that global FVC change was 0.20 and 0.60 in a year with obvious seasonal variability, and the trends of the annual FVCmax and FVCmean based on pixels illustrated that the global vegetation had turned green in the last 30 years.
