Abstract
The relatively minor instrumental modifications necessary to allow the operation of a CEC-21-110B mass spectrometer at pressures as high as 0·5 torr are discussed. The chemical ionization mass spectra of a series of substituted benzophenones have been investigated with several reactant gases: methane, ethane, propane and isobutane. The spectra and behavior of these gases are discussed in general and the specific fragmentation processes of these substituted benzophenones with propane are presented in some detail.

Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with supersonic molecular beams.

TL;DR: In this article, a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) with supersonic molecular beams (SMBs) is proposed, which is based on GC and MS interface with SMBs and on electron ionization (EI) of vibrationally cold analytes in the SMBs (cold EI) in a fly-through ion source.

Chemical ionization and electron impact mass spectrometry of some organophosphonate compounds

TL;DR: The application of gas chromatography and chemical ionization mass spectrometers to the determination of a variety of alkyl alkyls alklphosphonates, phosphonofluoridates, and an amidophosphorocyanidate is described in this paper.

High pressure charge exchange mass spectrometry

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of pressure and repeller field on the distribution of ions in the reactant gases and the charge exchange spectra were investigated and compared with electron ionization spectra.

Free radicals by mass spectrometry. XLIL Ionization potentials and ionic heats of formation for C1—C4 alkyl radicals

TL;DR: Ionization potentials for C1-C4 alkyl free radicals have been re-measured by electron impact, using an energy-resolved electron beam from a double-hemispherical electrostatic monochromator as mentioned in this paper.
