A powder was obtained from the dried body of Holothuria leucosilota (Brandt). According to IR and UV spectra, paper chromatography and the physical and chemical data, it is showed a sulfated mucopoly-saccharide consisted of galactosamine, glucouronic acid, fucose and sulfate with the molar ratio of 1:0.96:0.78:1.98 respectively. The specific rotation, intrinsic viscoslty and molecular weight of this polysaccharide were all presented.read more

The isolation and antioxidant activity of polysaccharides from the marine microalgae Isochrysis galbana
TL;DR: Three polysaccharides, IPSI-A,IPSI-B and IPSII, were successfully isolated from the marine microalgae Isochrysis galbana through a combination of anion-exchange column chromatography and repeated gel chromatography to have moderate scavenging activities against superoxide and hydroxyl radicals and moderate reductive power in a concentration-dependent manner.

Antioxidant activities of an exopolysaccharide isolated and purified from marine Pseudomonas PF-6.
TL;DR: An acidic exopolysaccharide was isolated and purified from marine Pseudomonas PF-6 and results showed that the acidic EPS had scavenging actions on DPPH·, ·OH and O2-· and the antioxidant activities increased with increases in its concentration.

Characterization and biological activities of a novel polysaccharide isolated from raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) fruits.
TL;DR: The inhibitory activity on protein glycation showed that in 14 days of incubation the inhibitory ability of RCP-II was more effective on the development of non-enzymatic glycation reaction at early phase than that at the following two phases.
