Comparative study of alkali roasting and leaching of chromite ores and titaniferous minerals
S. Parirenyatwa,L. Escudero-Castejon,Sergio Sanchez-Segado,Yotamu Stephen Rainford Hara,Animesh Jha +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used sodium and potassium hydroxides as an alkali for roasting of chromite ores and ilmenite mineral concentrates in order to extract water-soluble Na2CrO4 from reacted chromite and purify titanium dioxide from titaniferous minerals.

Selective recovery of Cr from stainless steel slag by alkaline roasting followed by water leaching
Eun Young Kim,Eun Young Kim,Jeroen Spooren,Kris Broos,Liesbeth Horckmans,Mieke Quaghebeur,Karl C. Vrancken,Karl C. Vrancken +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the performance of a selective chromium leaching from stainless steel slag (SS slag) by alkali roasting followed by water leaching and found that the efficiency of the process was increased by optimizing the mass ratio of alkaline agents (NaOH, and NaOH-NaNO 3 ) to the slag, roasting temperature and time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pressure oxidative leaching of Indian chromite ore in concentrated NaOH solution
TL;DR: In this article, a novel process for leaching chromite ore has been proposed, which lowers the reaction temperature and enhances the leaching efficiency through pressure oxidative leaching with pure oxygen (O-2) in concentrated sodium hydroxide (NaOH) aqueous solution.
