Vertical Accuracy Assessment of 30-M Resolution Alos, Aster, and Srtm Global Dems Over Northeastern Mindanao, Philippines
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors conducted a vertical accuracy assessment of the three Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) by comparing the elevation of 274 control points scattered over various sites in northeastern Mindanao, Philippines.
Behavioural responses of humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) to whalewatching boats near Isla de la Plata, Machalilla National Park, Ecuador
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured short-term reactions of whales to the whalewatching vessel activity typically seen in this area for two reasons: (1) to identify the nature of whales' avoidance response, if any, in order to draft whaling guidelines that help local mariners identify when they may be disturbing whales; and (2) to quantify the magnitude of any avoidance response.

On the relationship between the composition, morphology and function of leaves
TL;DR: The composition and morphology of leaves are linked and that leaf function is a consequence of that linkage and a comparison with leaf measurements from several external databases confirm that the relationships described are widely applicable.

Mapping forest plots: an efficient method combining photogrammetry and field triangulation
TL;DR: This work presents a method that can be used for the absolute mapping of point features under a canopy that is efficient for large forest plots and results from an experiment in a mixed boreal stand in southern Finland are presented.
